Owen is one of 14 talented hopefuls from across the UK who began the series looking for an opportunity to be cast as Sky or Sophie in the West End production of Mamma Mia.
Thousands applied for the coveted 14 slots on the ITV show which is hosted by Zoe Ball and features Jessie Ware, Alan Carr, and musical theatre superstars Samantha Barks and Amber Riley on the judging panel.
The first episode of the show was broadcast on the 22nd October with the final airing this Sunday, 10th December at 6.30pm (ITV1).
Owen began singing lessons when he was 13 but it was on a trip to London where he saw Phantom of the Opera on the West End where he caught the musical theatre bug.
He told Belfast Live,
"I absolutely fell in love and I just knew that was what I wanted to do. A couple of years passed, and I kept up with singing lessons and did some classical and musical theatre and school musicals.
"I did my first amateur dramatic production when I was 18 and that was Phantom and I played Phantom in that which I was very proud of. I auditioned for acting and musical theatre schools and on my second audition, Italia Conti, I got in and it was unbelievable and I took it. I graduated this year.
"For so many people who have backed me over the years, I owe it not only to myself but all of them as well. It would be an incredible feeling to win."
Good luck to Owen for the final this weekend!
