From Sullivan to the Screen: Celebrating Actress Jessica Reynolds

We are delighted to celebrate the continued success of former pupil Jessica Reynolds, whose impressive acting career has seen her become one of Northern Ireland’s rising stars on stage and screen.

Originally from Seahill, County Down, Jessica attended Sullivan Upper School before pursuing her passion for acting at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), graduating in 2019. Since then, she has built an outstanding portfolio of work across television, film and theatre, earning recognition both nationally and internationally.

Jessica first gained widespread attention for her role as Rachael in the acclaimed BBC Three comedy-drama My Left Nut (2020), a series praised for its warmth, humour and honest storytelling. She went on to captivate audiences around the world as Malva Christie in the sixth season of the hit Starz series Outlander (2022–2023), a role that introduced her talents to a global audience.

Her film career has also flourished, with appearances in The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw (2020), the award-winning Irish comedy-drama Kneecap (2024), and LifeHack (2026). Most recently, Jessica took on the role of the young Emma Harte in Channel 4’s adaptation of Barbara Taylor Bradford’s celebrated novel A Woman of Substance (2026).

Alongside her screen work, Jessica has enjoyed success on stage, performing in productions including Much Ado About Nothing, Second Person Narrative and The Lion in Winter, showcasing her versatility as an actress across a range of genres.

Jessica’s journey from Sullivan Upper School to an increasingly successful acting career is a wonderful example of where talent, dedication and ambition can lead. We are incredibly proud to count her among our alumni and look forward to following the next chapter in what is proving to be a remarkable career.
