Sullivan Win Ulster Schools' Alumni Golf Shield

A team of former pupils from Sullivan has won the 2024 Ulster Public Schools Alumni Golf Society Shield.

Sullivan last won the Shield in 2022 and repeated the feat this week at the usual venue of Royal Belfast Golf Club.

Congratulations to the team which was captained by John Leckey (Class of 1989) and featured Richard Gilliland (Class of 1979), James McCombe (Class of 1996), Michael McCombe (Class of 1997), Stevie Ham (Class of 1995) and Fergus McIlduff (Class of 1999).

The competition was originally established in 1934 by Maurice Johnston, an Old Campbellian and member of Royal Belfast Golf Club. Campbell College were the inaugural winners and other alumni associations and societies who have participated in the competition throughout the years include; Ballymena Academy, Belfast Royal Academy, Coleraine Inst, Bangor Grammar, Methodist College, Royal School Dungannon, Foyle College and Sullivan.
